DAY 21—Resource For Loving Others

Our only resource for loving others is in God’s Love that was manifested toward us in Christ Jesus. The object we have in Loving others is that they might come to know the Love of God for themselves. In the expressions of His Love that they meet through us, we must be careful to let them know how they can know this Love.

I John 4:7—Beloved, let us Love one another: for Love is of God; and every one that Loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that Loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love. NIrV—Dear friends, let us Love one another, because Love comes from God. Everyone who Loves has been born again because of what God has done. That person knows God. Anyone who does not Love does not know God, because God is Love.
Matthew 18:31-33—So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? NIrV—The other servants saw what had happened. It troubled them greatly. They went and told their master everything that had happened. "Then the master called the first servant in. ‘You evil servant,’ he said. ‘I forgave all that you owed me because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on the other servant just as I had mercy on you?’

HEAVENLY FATHER, please keep me free from resentment or envy when I see your Love expressed toward others. If I see this in myself, let us it be a signal for Your Love to move all the more powerfully through me.

As we receive God’s mercy, we become a channel for it to extend to others—Matt 18:23-35
